Anil Luthra – Bollywood Director Info – Glamstr Production House 2018

Mr. Anil Luthra started his career by doing theatre and stage plays in Shimla and did his Masters (M.A) in theatre and dramatics from Punjab University Chandigarh and worked with the National school of Drama during his tenure in theatre.

Graduated to Television and worked for Doordarshan in Delhi for four years where Mr. Luthra did two serials, ‘Tarrum Too’ a magazine format TV show for kids in 1990, the project was supervised by well-known filmmaker Mr. Shyam Benegal. It had live Action, Muppets, and Animation all in one bouquet back then. It was a path-breaking show.

Then he did, ‘Tanhai’, with actors like Parikshit Sahani for DD Metro channel. Mr. Anil Luthra Started his journey in Bollywood in 1995 By Joining Eagle films and did ‘Ramjaane’ with Rajiv Mehra, Shahrukh Khan & Juhi Chawala.

Then did serials ‘Office office’, and film like ‘Khatta Meetha’ and others. The feature film ‘Chala Mussaddi office office’ where Luthra actually worked as Creative and casting director. Mr. Anil Luthra had directed the following long-running and successful shows: ‘Shararat’ for Star Plus and UTV – ‘Agadam Bagdam Tigdam’ for Disney Channel – ‘Yeh kaali kaali Raatein Haunted Nights’ for Sahara One – ‘Thriller at ten, Saturday suspense’ for Zee Tv.‘Rishtey’ for Zee Tv. At present, Mr. Anil Luthra is in the process of setting up his new production company ASL Films and a couple of TV serials with leading TV channels are in pipeline.

Planning to start his first Feature Film as a Producer by 2018. Advice from Mr. Anil Luthra to Budding Directors: “ With the boom of internet it has become easier to showcase your work, and there is too much of rush. Anybody and everybody can become film maker with the easy access because of new technology, It has made life for budding directors easier as well as difficult. Easier as they can make and edit their film on a phone camera and PC. And difficult, because there is too much of competition and rush. The challenge is how to stand out and get noticed. Your content and your vision is only going to make you stand out. Otherwise more than 50% of the films of Bollywood or Hollywood look similar. Your selection of content and narrative is going to make you stand out. Never lose your grip on that . Always strive for the cinema which is meaningful as well as entertaining.”
